OJGP Supports Effort to Remove Section 224 from the National Defense Authorization Act

The Office supports congressional efforts to remove Section 224 and preserve democratic accountability in national-security decision-making.

The Office of Jaden G. Persaud supports Representative Ro Khanna's effort to remove Section 224 from the National Defense Authorization Act.

Questions of war, peace, and national security require transparency and meaningful congressional accountability. They should not be insulated from democratic oversight through expansive or ambiguous statutory language.

OJGP supports a national-security framework that is strong, constitutional, and answerable to the American people.

Decisions carrying consequences of war and peace cannot be placed on autopilot. Congress and the public deserve transparency, accountability, and a meaningful voice.— Jaden G. Persaud
